Date 1971 : ouverture station du Lac Blanc

  • The Montjoie 1 ski lift and Carrefour 1 ski lift are created.
  • The Auberge du Vallon, with a capacity of 120 covers, opens its doors at Lac Blanc 900.
  • A snow groomer is acquired to ensure the maintenance of the station’s slopes.

  • The Carrefour 1 ski lift is doubled by the Carrefour 2 ski lift.
  • The Reissberg snack bar is created at 1,200 metres.

  • The Montjoie 1 ski lift is doubled by a new Montjoie ski lift.

  • The slalom stadium is created.
  • The “Station du Bonhomme” becomes “Station du Bonhomme – Lac Blanc” and joins the prestigious group of classified French resorts.

  • The Baby ski lift is created.
  • Nine automatic snow cannons are installed, mainly at the bottom of the Montjoie slope.

  • The Tinfronce ski lift is replaced by a larger ski lift.
  • The Montjoie slope is equipped with lighting, making it the largest slope in Europe designed for night skiing!

  • A ski lift is installed on the Bichette slope.
  • The Montjoie slope is fully equipped with automatic snow cannons, with an additional 19 high-pressure cannons.

  • The Auberge du Vallon is expanded, increasing its capacity from 120 to 250 covers.
  • A ski rental shop is created in the basement of the Auberge du Vallon.
  • The lower part of the slalom stadium is equipped with automatic snow cannons, with 12 cannons installed.

  • The resort is renamed “Station du Lac Blanc – Le Bonhomme – Orbey”.
  • The entire snow cannon system is fully automated and computer-controlled.
  • The Montjoie slope is brought up to standard for the new FIS certification.

  • The second part of the slalom stadium is equipped with automatic snow cannons.
  • The slalom stadium is also fitted with lighting.

  • The automatic snow production capacity is doubled with the installation of two 280 HP thermal compressors, enabling the snowmaking of a 1,500 m slope within 48 hours, with 20 to 30 cm of snow.
  • On 16 October, the prefectural authorization to operate the new compressors is obtained. On 17 October, the official inauguration of the new installation takes place!

  • The upper section (Baby and Carrefour slopes) is equipped with new generation snow cannons (lance cannons) to avoid the prolonged use of low-pressure snow cannons, thus eliminating the risk of oil leaks into nature.

  • The Reissberg snack bar is renovated to include 40 places for picnicking.
  • The ski rental at the Reissberg snack bar is expanded with the creation of a ski maintenance facility.
  • The high-pressure snow cannons in the lower part of the resort are replaced with new generation cannons.
  • The Refuge du Calvaire is acquired by the resort and renamed Auberge des Crêtes.

  • A water pump is added to the snow cannon system.
  • Shelters for snow cannons are built on the Montjoie slope and the slalom stadium.
  • The Auberge des Crêtes is expanded, increasing its capacity to 120 places indoors and 140 places on the terrace.

  • The Montjoie detachable 6-seater chairlift is put into service, remaining the only one of its kind in the Vosges Mountains to date.
  • A tunnel is built under the Route des Crêtes for skiers.
  • The La Maze blue slope is equipped with automatic snow cannons, reprofiled, and fitted with lighting.
  • New snow cannons, of the latest generation, are installed.
  • Additional parking spaces are created.

  • The snowpark is created.
  • The entire snow cannon system is upgraded to new generation cannons.
  • Additional parking spaces are created.
  • A new 250 m² ski rental facility is built at the Auberge du Vallon.
