Immerse yourself in history with a guided tour of the Sigolsheim Necropolis, built on the initiative of Marshal de Lattre de Tassigny in the aftermath of the Second World War.

Overlooking the Alsace plain from the Blutberg hill - literally the ‘mountain of blood’, the scene of fierce fighting - this solemn site contains the graves of 1,589 soldiers of the 1st French Army who fell in the liberation of France.

Along the way, you'll discover the poignant story of these men, the symbolic architecture of the site and the remembrance issues it embodies.

Nearby, there is also an American monument, built in 1995 in tribute to the American soldiers who fell in Alsace, a reminder of the decisive role played by the Allies in the liberation of the region.

It's an emotional moment, to be experienced and shared as a tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Guided tour in french.
