A summit start: the route of the 100 Miles race unveiled from Lac Blanc Station
The organizers of Trail Alsace by UTMB have just unveiled the route for the legendary 100-mile Ultra Trail des Chevaliers, with a major new feature for this year’s event: a start from the Lac Blanc resort in the heart of the Vosges mountains.
This is a strong endorsement for our region, which is establishing itself as an exceptional venue for major trail running events.
From the heights of the resort, runners will set off at an altitude of over 1,100 meters. From the very first kilometers, the scene is set: unspoiled nature, challenging terrain, and breathtaking panoramas.
The route will pass by the Tour du Faudé before reaching the slopes of Brezouard and continuing along the Vosges ridges. After crossing Aubure, the highest village in Alsace, the route will take trail runners to Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle, an iconic stop before the descent to the foothills.
At the end of the course, the ruins of Landsberg and Bernstein castles accompany the final kilometers. The finish line is in Obernai, at the foot of its ramparts.
See you on May 15 to witness this legendary start from the Lac Blanc resort!
